High Falls State Park

April 1, 2020

I spent the afternoon with my family at High Falls State Park in Jackson, Ga. After being stuck indoors for several weeks due to COVD-19, we thought it would be a great place to relax and unwind while still keeping a 6 foot distance from other people.

We hiked this beautiful trail that runs along the side the Towaliga River and winds down to the base of the falls. A perfect place for a photo walk. I enjoyed taking these shots as we wandered through the forest.

The last time we hiked the trail, the river was muddy due to flooding. But today the weather was perfect and the water flowing over the falls was clear. Lots of green everywhere as leaves emerge for Spring.

After exploring the area for a couple of hours we made our way back up the trail and found a shady picnic table for lunch. Not a bad way to spend an afternoon.
